Since you'll be doing this training Luke Skywalker style, there will be nobody watching you, nobody judging your progress, only you. So if you decide to "cheat" a workout nobody else will care, if you stop a workout five minutes early or don't push yourself the only consequences will be that you won't see your results, which would defeat the purpose of even training in the first place. Many people find it hard to motivate and push themselves to their potential, but if you wish to become a Jedi, then you must realize that you're the only one holding yourself back.
You shouldn't put a set limit on how fast or how long you train, simply use your own judgement. As a general rule of thumb I normally go as hard as I can for as long as I can, since this produces maximum results, and helps to increase your mental drive to "push yourself beyond your limits". Of course it is always a smart idea to begin with a warm-up. That is, if you're going on a run or jumping rope, begin at a slow pace then work your way up. Most people don't realize that they can push themselves well past their limits. This is a mental block that can only be overcome on your own.
